UpchurchScientific® PEEK (polyetheretherketone) polymer tubing is
biocompatible, chemically inert tomost solvents, andcanbeused to
replace stainless steel tubing inmost liquidanalytical systems.Unlike
stainless steel tubing, PEEK tubing isflexibleandcanbeeasilycut to
desired lengths.
PEEK tubing has a very smooth internal surface, which causes less
turbulence thansimilarlysizedmetal tubing,contributing to improved
resolutionof samplebands.Ofallourpolymer tubingmaterials,PEEK
is the leastpermeable togas (seematerial propertiesonourwebsite:
www.idex-hs.com).
Inaddition,muchof our 1/16”OD tubing is color-coded sodifferent
IDs areeasily identified. Our proprietary extrusionprocess ensures
color permanence inour tubing.
Our 5’ length tubing is rough cut to approximately 5’1”. A trim cut
shouldbemadebefore use, especially for smaller ID tubing. PEEK
tubingcanbecut easilywitha razorblade.However for an improved

What SizePEEKTubingShould I Use?
XXIt is usually safe touse 1/16”OD x 0.010” ID tubing throughout an
analytical HPLC system.With a 0.010” ID, thepressuredrop across
most tubing lengths is negligible, and the ID is small enough to
minimizebandbroadening.
XXHighpressure semi-prep LC systemswillmost likely use
1/8”OD tubing.
XXUse 1.8mmOD tubing to replace fluoropolymer tubingused in
somePharmacia®/GEHealthcare systems.
XXUseour 1/32”OD tubing for thehighpressure flowpathof some
microboreHPLC systems.
XXChoose 360µmOD tubing formost capillary systems.
