ETFE (ethyltrifluoroethylene) tubing isparticularly suitable
forHPLC,since ithasahigherburstpressureas compared
toPTFE. 1/16"ODx0.25mm ID tubingwillwithstandup to
186bar (2700psi)withwater asmobilephase. However, it
is important tonote thatwhenusedwithorganic solvents,
ETFE tubingmay swell, reducing thatmaximumpressure to
70bar (1000psi).
This is the ideal polymer for applicationswithchloride salts,which typically
corrode stainless steel.
