control zone. These are used to switch various detector parameters
ON/OFF,suchasPID lamp,FID ignitor,TCDcurrent,orFPDPMTvolts.

The410 front panel has15control zones.Eachcontrol zonehas threeblackpushbuttonsandoneLED
STATUS indicator,arranged incolumnsacross thefrontcontrolpanel. The410has threegaspressure(EPC)
controlzones,sevendetectorparametercontrolzones(FIDignitor,PIDlampcurrent,etc),andfivetemperature
controlzones.Eachcontrolzoneisadjustedbyatrimpot,locatedonthefrontedgeofthetoppanel(immediately
behindthefrontcontolpanel).Toadjustthelocalsetpoint,pressthatbuttonandturnthetrimpotwhileobserving
theLEDdisplayuntilthedesiredsetpointappears.Ensurethatthe

switchison“

(in theupposition).

The START/RUN button with ready-light
lights up when the GC electronics are
warmed up and ready to perform a run.

polishing filterbake-out
cycle: the carrier gas
polishing filter isheated
for5minutes toeliminate
contaminants.
The thermo-couple out
of range alarm LED
indicates when any
heated zone is reading
less than5ormore than
400degreesCentigrade.
When the alarm is
activated, allACpower
to the heaters is shut
OFF by de-energizing
themainpower relay.
The bright LED digital display window shows
columnoven temperature,detector temperatures,
gaspressures,anddetectorparameterssucha
FID ignitor volts, PID lamp current, FPD PMT
voltage,etc.Thedisplayselectorswitchandzone
push buttons allow the user to choose which
information isdisplayed in thewindow.
