bioaccumulation (e.g., PCB#169).The list encom-
passes the seven European indicator compounds
and the 12most toxic congeners, according to the
WorldHealthOrganization (WHO) list.²
Usinga40mx0.18mm ID,0.18µm filmRtx®-PCB
column and the conditions listed in Figure 2, we
evaluated a sample composed of Aroclor® PCB
mixes 1242, 1254, and 1262. The 158 target PCB
congeners were identified in the sample, eluted as
135chromatographicpeaks.Of the158congeners,
110 eluted singly and48wereunresolved.
Produced through one of our newest polymer
technologies, Rtx®-PCB columns undergo rigor-
ous quality assurance measures, to ensure every
columnmeets exacting standards and to give you
highly reproducibleperformance, from column to
column. If you are analyzingPCBs—as congeners,
as Aroclor® mixtures, or as other mixtures (e.g.,
Kaneclor, Clophen, or Phenoclor mixes)—we
highly recommendusing thesenew columns.
