Our Vu2 Union™ connector combines the sim-
plicity of a Press-Tight®unionwith the strength
of ametal union.The columns cannotunexpect-
edly disconnect, even at temperatures as high as
400°C.
HowdoesaVu2Union™connectorwork?
A Press-Tight® union in the Vu2 Union™ con-
nector joins the fused silicaends together; the ferruleandknurlednutat eachendof theconnectorhold
the tubing inplace via a secondary seal between the ferrule and thePress-Tight®union. Eachknurled
nut applies independent pressure to each ferrule, tomake a leak-tight sealwith the column end.These
ultra-strong connections will not unexpectedly disconnect under temperature changes, vibrations, or
other stressesnormallyencountered inGCanalyses.Theopendesignallows visual confirmationof the
seal between thecolumnand thePress-Tight®union, toensureconfidence in theconnection.Hang the
connector from the column cage, tominimize stress on the connections.
